English made Men’s shoes (and boots) are generally made in fittings E, F, G and H and these can be classified simplistically as follows:

E = Narrow
F = Regular
G = Wide
H = Extra Wide

The bulk of our styles are made in F fitting, as statistics show that worldwide this is the most appropriate fitting for a majority of males, but we also offer a good selection of G fitting shoes.

Our Ballantyne is a premium pair of men’s shoes crafted from navy grain and navy suede leather, designed as a refined trainer for modern, everyday wear. The slip-on upper, finished with elastic across the instep, allows for easy on-and-off wear while maintaining a clean, contemporary street-luxe aesthetic. Featuring durable cemented rubber soles, Ballantyne delivers excellent grip, flexibility, and long-lasting comfort. An Ortholite® footbed provides instant step-in comfort, cushioning, and enhanced stability for all-day support.

Built on the ‘Trainer’ last and available in an F fitting, this trainer offers a sleek silhouette with a comfortable, supportive fit. Designed and engineered in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and handmade in our high-grade factory in India, these men’s shoes reflect Loake’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and refined casual styling.

Developed for our new trainer styles the ‘Trainer’ last is a standard width fitting. Please note that unlike our other lasts ‘Trainer’ is sized in European sizes, ranging from size 40 through to size 47. Customers will need to select their EU size equivalent when ordering shoes on this last, please see our Size Guide for details. We would suggest ordering the equivalent of your normal Loake shoe size in this style.
